critical creative reflection question

The technology I incorporated throughout this process was my phone camera and new computer programs, for example, Indesign and publisher. My partner and I used my phone camera simply because my phone is newer. I took most of the photos in square mode and some in portrait mode this allowed us to get a better quality photo and a closer look at the dishes. Thankfully our photos came out good and we didn't need to do any extra editing. When we first started making the magazine we used publisher but than we realized the Indesign made everything have a more professional look.

creative critical reflection question

In the beginning of the project I did not know anything about the program Indesign, how to create a two page spread, or how to use different features on my phone when I needed to take pictures for mu magazine. As time went on during the time of class we learned how to use Indesign and how to do all the things I didn't know how to do before. when it came to the picture taking I took for my magazine my partner and I discovered different types or edits we could use. As for time management and scheduling luckily my partner Delhi and I are friends and neither one of use had a hard time finding time to create our magazine.

creative critical reflection question

2. How my magazine will be engaging with the audience will be through social media and eventually creating and Ad for advertisement. Our target audience is food fanatics that enjoy our magazine and the content within it. The age range that we are seeking is between the ages of 25 and up. We plan to broaden our audience by making a social media accounts like Instagram, Facebook, ect. This page will have pictures of different dishes that correlate. We also will be letting our audience know when a certain issue is coming out. Some magazines we used as references were were Food & Wine, Bon Appetite, and Simply Southern. All these magazines had similar target audiences in which my magazine is also aiming for and they give us an opportunity to see how these magazines reach out to their viewers. We plan to distribute our magazine digitally, we would like to use the app called Magzter Newsstand. This app will allow us to have our magazine on their app and allows for readers to purchase magazines in the app.

creative critical reflection question

1. In my magazine I used some conventional aspects that I've seen used in other magazines. For example on my front cover the title of my magazine is bold, I have my subheadings underneath. This is common in food magazines. For my front cover I also did some text box's about the different articles being shown in my magazine. Having this characteristic in my magazine shows the involvement of some conventions that are utilized in a food magazine.  In my articles the layout I proceeded to use is conventional for a food magazine. The list of ingredients and the recipes that were displayed for the readers to see clearly and have no confusion on the directions. I also gave a brief explanations on why I enjoyed making the festive snacks for the holidays. Lastly, another convention I used was the angle in which the photos were taken. In many related magazines when a picture of the dish is displayed there are close up shots, side shots, before and after, and above the dish shot. Using the research from previous assignments I managed to use the techniques in my own magazine. I did this because it would allow the reader to see how the dish is supposed to look like and try to give a visual guideline.
